Many thanks to all who braved the weather both to compete and to help run the first TRI-UK Crewkerne Short Course Triathlon.  The majority of competitors were triathlon novices and the Aqua Centre was soon humming with a mixture of first-timer nerves, anticpation and adrenalin.  A pool swim of 250m soon saw the first wave of swimmers out into transition to the bike and out onto the roads for a 10.5km undulating (some might say down-right nasty!) bike leg.  From then on, transition was buzzing, the first wave of cyclists being back into transition just 30 minutes later and the first finisher for the day crossing the line 46 minutes after the start.  Course records have now been set by Tony Waller for the men at 34 minutes 58 seconds and Helen Wainwright for the women at 38 minutes 19 seconds.
